YOU'RE LOOKING AT THE CHARACTER BREAKDOWN. . .

Did you know actors are hired on the most subjective criteria? They are not hired on the basis of a grade point average or other quantitative measures. It's frustrating to try and outguess what goes on in the minds of "them" in making a decision. BUT, you can definitely shave points in your favor towards getting the job.


Here's a Career Tip that some smart actors use with proven results that every actor can employ:

Assume you're being sent out for an audition. Your role reads: happy, approachable, perky. Can walk into a room with a big smile. Looks perfect; like a winner. Able to turn heads.


That's your "role" being an actor. You assume this role when you walk out the door in the morning. You stay in character throughout the day, wherever you go, whatever you do, whoever you meet. (Do you know how to walk down the street? REALLY walk down the street? Stars do - they practiced doing "it." And everybody gravitates toward them - wanting to be in their aura.)


You step out of character only when you return home, if you choose. Then (and only then) you may assume your evil twin, descend into that terminal depression, morph into a slug, take a swipe at Snowflake the cat, whatever. But at that point, it's OK.


Tomorrow, repeat steps above. And for a long time after that as well. (But you might want to cut Snowflake some slack.)
