Education:
· Certificate in Periodontics (2001-2004), University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia. Trained in the diagnosis, treatment planning and management of patients with a wide range of periodontal and restorative needs incorporating dental implants, adjunctive orthodontics and regenerative techniques. Taught Basic Clinical Periodontics, evaluated dental students in management of periodontal patients, and worked with restorative faculty in comprehensive dental care.
· D.M.D. (1999-2001), University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia. Graduated from the Program of Advanced Standing (PASS) in a group practice clinical setting with an emphasis on restorative dentistry involving a multi-disciplinary approach and team-work.
· M.D.S. (1996-1998) (deferred), Government Dental College and Hospital, Madras (Chennai), India. Completed over two years of training in Periodontics at one of India’s top dental schools and hospitals, with a focus on surgical management of moderate to advanced periodontal disease.
· B.D.S. (1987-1992), Government Dental College and Hospital, Madras (Chennai), India. Completed a four-year dental degree program, followed by an intensive one-year internship with rotations in various specialty clinics.

· Lecturer and Clinical Instructor (1994-1996), Saveetha Dental College and Hospital, Madras, India. Taught Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Radiology to third- and fourth-year dental students. Clinical instructor in Oral Diagnosis.
· Private Dental Practitioner (1994-1998). Established, operated and managed a solo evening practice in Madras, India. General practice that included crown and bridge, endodontics, adjunctive orthodontics and minor oral surgical procedures.
· Dental Assistant / Apprentice (1992-1993). Worked at a private practice specializing in Endodontics.
Research:
· The Influence of Periodontal Disease and Immediate Placement on Long-Term Implant Survival: A Retrospective Analysis (Oct. 2003). Inaugural presentation at the North-Eastern Implant Symposium held in New York, NY, from research findings at a private periodontal practice.
· The Effect of Bisphosphonates in Reduction of Alveolar Bone Loss: An Animal Study (1998). Towards requirements of a Master’s Degree in Periodontics at Madras, India.
